Prof. Mateusz Pilich is associate Professor at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw, Chair of the International Private and Trade Law. Graduated 1999, Ph. D. in law in 2006 – the doctoral dissertation, entitled „Good Faith in the UN Convention on the International Sale of Goods”, was published as the book by C.H. Beck in 2006 and awarded second prize in the 47th Yearly Competition of the Polish legal journal “Państwo i Prawo” [State and Law] for the best doctoral dissertation in law. As the member of the Faculty, he regularly holds lectures in English on the comparative law and the private international law.

 

The main fields of Prof. Pilich’s research include the private international law, esp. the choice of law applicable to persons, contracts, and family law matters, as well as the international civil and commercial litigation. He is an author of over 60 scientific papers, books, and contributions in collective works written in Polish, English and German.

 

Since 2005, Prof. Pilich has occupied the post of a Member of the Office for Research and Analyses at the Supreme Court of Poland, delivering written opinions in many precedent private law cases.

 

Dr hab. Artur Nowacki, associate professor of commercial law at the Law

Faculty of the Warsaw University, author of some 70 publications primarily on issues of companies law and the law of obligations, including the biggest commentary to the law concerning Polish limited liability company, for many years he has been combing academic career with M&A advisory.

 

 

Dr. Rafal Morek is a partner at K&L Gates. As an arbitrator or a counsel in arbitration he has taken

part in over 60 proceedings. He is also a certified mediator. In addition to the dispute resolution practice, he often advises on infrastructure or other construction projects. He is a member of the FIDIC Task Group 15 which is to propose the “FIDIC’ s Golden Principles”. He is ranked by Best Lawyers (Arbitration and Mediation), Chambers Global / Europe (Dispute Resolution, Most in Demand Arbi-trators and Real Estate & Construction), Legal 500, and Who’s Who Legal (Arbitration: Lawyers and Future Leaders). Dr. Morek is also a part-time professor at the University of Warsaw.

 

Joanna Gałajda is an associate in Bird & Bird  IT and Commercial Practice based in Warsaw office. She supports clients in the IT, finance and insurance sectors, and has participated in disputes related to the implementation of large IT projects.

 

Joanna regularly provides advice to clients relating to cloud computing, in particular use of cloud solutions in financial institutions, and data protection in the cloud. She has also participated in numerous conferences on cloud computing, personal data protection and cybersecurity. She has delivered presentations and publications related to the latest legal issues in technology law.

 

She graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Wroclaw. In 2014, she obtained her LL.M. degree from Illinois Institute of Technology – Chicago, Kent College of Law.
